Background

ptpA, or Prolyl tripeptidyl peptidase, is an enzyme that sequentially cleaves tripeptides from the N-terminus of proteins or peptides, specifically when a proline residue is at the third position from the N-terminus (P3). This enzyme is involved in protein maturation, degradation, and the processing of proline-rich peptides.

Interaction

Associates with PP2A heterodimeric core enzyme PP2A(D), composed of a 36 kDa catalytic subunit (subunit C) and a 65 kDa constant regulatory subunit (PR65 or subunit A) (PubMed:16916641). Interacts with PPP2CB (By similarity).
