Background
UDP-glucose:glycoprotein glucosyltransferase (UGT) is a soluble protein of the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) that selectively reglucosylates unfolded glycoproteins, thus providing quality control for protein transport out of the ER.
Protein class
Metabolic proteins, Plasma proteins
Predicted location
Intracellular
Single cell type specificity
Low cell type specificity
Immune cell specificity
Low immune cell specificity
Cell line specificity
Low cell line specificity
Interaction
Monomer as well as in a tight complex with SELENOF (PubMed:24415556). Interacts with METTL23 (PubMed:23349634). Part of a large chaperone multiprotein complex comprising DNAJB11, HSP90B1, HSPA5, HYOU, PDIA2, PDIA4, PDIA6, PPIB, SDF2L1, UGGT1 and very small amounts of ERP29, but not, or at very low levels, CALR nor CANX (By similarity).
Molecular function
Glycosyltransferase, Transferase
