PSMC5

The gene PSMC5 encodes one of the ATPase subunits, a member of the triple-A family of ATPases which have a chaperone-like activity. In addition to participation in proteasome functions, this subunit may participate in transcriptional regulation since it has been shown to interact with the thyroid hormone receptor and retinoid X receptor-alpha.

Interaction

Component of the 19S proteasome regulatory particle complex. The 26S proteasome consists of a 20S core particle (CP) and two 19S regulatory subunits (RP). The regulatory particle is made of a lid composed of 9 subunits, a base containing 6 ATPases including PSMC5 and few additional components (PubMed:27428775, 27342858). Component of a complex with USP49 and RUVBL1 (PubMed:23824326). Interacts with PRPF19. Interacts with TRIM5 (PubMed:22078707). Interacts with NDC80 (PubMed:9295362, 10409732). Interacts with PAAF1 (PubMed:15831487). Interacts, in vitro, with the thyroid hormone receptor (in a thyroid hormone T3-dependent manner) and with retinoid X receptor (RXR) (By similarity). Interacts with ERCC6 (PubMed:26030138).
