This product is a tetramer of biotinylated peptide/MHC complex with streptavidin mainly composed of ACAN-derived peptide of ATEYRVRVNSAYQDK covering 89-103 and DRB1*04:01 molecule. The pMHC tetramer recognizes CD4 T cells, and can be used in the analysis of individual antigen-specific T cells.

The encoded protein is an integral part of the extracellular matrix in cartilagenous tissue and it withstands compression in cartilage. Mutations in this gene may be involved in skeletal dysplasia and spinal degeneration. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants that encode different protein isoforms have been observed in this gene.
