Recombinant Anti-FBP × Anti-CD3 Bispecific Antibody (Tandem Diabody) is a bispecific fusion protein with four binding sites, two of which bind to tumor cell surface antigens and the other two to the immune cells. Tandem Diabodies do not carry Fc domains. So they are smaller than whole IgGs or IgG-derived BsAbs but larger than tandem scFvs. Therefore, they have a shorter serum half-life than IgGs but remain longer in the circulation compared with tandem scFvs. This BsAb is capable of targeting the tumor and recruiting T effector cells via binding to the CD3 subunit of the T cell receptor complex. It was designed for the treatment of ovarian cancer.
