The anti-FGF21 eliminating antibody is an engineered pH-sensitive antibody against human FGF21. FGF21 acts as a metabolic regulator, enhancing glucose uptake in tissues. The antibody has a novel FGF21-sweeping activity in vivo, which selectively eliminatesthe soluble FGF21 from plasma. Compared to conventional antibody, the mAb exerted in vivo efficacy by simultaneously engineering both pH-dependent antigen binding, to mimic the pH-dependent receptor-ligand binding of such endocytic receptors, and increased FcRn binding affinity at neutral pH, to mimic the cell-bound form of the receptors.
