The anti-RBP4 eliminating antibody is an engineered pH-sensitive antibody against human RBP4. RBP4 is a retinol carrier, influencing vitamin A delivery. The antibody has a novel RBP4-sweeping activity in vivo, which selectively eliminatesthe soluble RBP4 from plasma. Compared to conventional antibody, the mAb exerted in vivo efficacy by simultaneously engineering both pH-dependent antigen binding, to mimic the pH-dependent receptor-ligand binding of such endocytic receptors, and increased FcRn binding affinity at neutral pH, to mimic the cell-bound form of the receptors.
