The anti-SFRP5 eliminating antibody is an engineered pH-sensitive antibody against human and mouse SFRP5. SFRP5, expressed in the retina, affects Wnt pathway modulation. The antibody has a novel SFRP5-sweeping activity in vivo, which selectively eliminatesthe soluble SFRP5 from plasma. Compared to conventional antibody, the mAb exerted in vivo efficacy by simultaneously engineering both pH-dependent antigen binding, to mimic the pH-dependent receptor-ligand binding of such endocytic receptors, and increased FcRn binding affinity at neutral pH, to mimic the cell-bound form of the receptors.
