Human Anti-HLA-DR (clone I-2) scFv-Fc Chimera

CAT#: VS-0425-FY116

This fusion protein targets HLA-DR, a major histocompatibility complex class II molecule involved in antigen presentation and immune response regulation. By binding to HLA-DR, it can modulate immune responses and has potential applications in autoimmune and transplant-related diseases.

  • Long Name
  • Human Leukocyte Antigen-DR isotype
  • Function
  • The HLA-DR genes encode for HLA-DR, a major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class II cell surface receptor. As a key component of the adaptive immune system, HLA-DR's primary function is antigen presentation to CD4+ T helper cells.
Found predominantly on professional antigen-presenting cells (APCs) such as dendritic cells, macrophages, and B cells, HLA-DR molecules bind to peptide fragments derived from extracellular pathogens. These peptide-HLA-DR complexes are then displayed on the APC surface, where they can be recognized by specific T cell receptors on CD4+ T cells. This interaction is crucial for activating T helper cells, which subsequently orchestrate various immune responses, including B cell activation and the recruitment of other immune cells to eliminate the threat. HLA-DR plays a central role in initiating and regulating antigen-specific immunity.
