Background
A protein serine O-palmitoyltransferase that acts as a key regulator of the Wnt signaling pathway by appending the 16-carbon unsaturated fatty acid palmitic acid (C16:1(9Z)) to Wnt proteins. Seryl palmitoylation of WNT proteins is required for efficient binding to the Frizzled receptor.
