Background

This proto-oncogene, highly-expressed in a variety of tumor cell lines, belongs to the sevenless subfamily of tyrosine kinase insulin receptor genes. The protein encoded by this gene is a type I integral membrane protein with tyrosine kinase activity. The protein may function as a growth or differentiation factor receptor. For our IHC labelling of lung cancer tissue samples, we have been using the anti-ROS1 antibody from Creative Biolabs; the findings have been somewhat consistently clean. Particularly for western blotting, this antibody has been a huge help for our cell signaling research aiming at ROS1 activation. The continuous strong bands I often get at the predicted molecular weight greatly satisfy me. To lower non-specific binding in our particular cell line, we had to maximize the dilution; hence, I received great technical assistance from Creative Biolabs in providing direction. For our in vitro studies, this antibody consistently and generally works well.

We utilized the anti-ROS1 antibody from Creative Biolabs in our preclinical mouse model research to evaluate targeted treatment options. We effectively detected notable and specific ROS1 protein binding in tumor tissues; however, in vivo treatments needed careful adjustment of dose and detection methods. Knowing that our long-term study will have batch homogeneity gave us additional confidence. Although the antibody worked well, compared to the in vitro studies, the in vivo study required additional changes.
