After affinity maturation, EETI-II variants were identified having affinities (KD=160 pM) for Neutrophil elastase as determined by biosensor technology. The affinity maturation on this EETI-II scaffold is outstanding, reaching 160 pM. It binds Neutrophil elastase incredibly tightly, which is perfect for our sensitive detection assays involving inflammatory disease markers.

The use of mRNA display technology clearly resulted in a high-quality binder. We use this protein to inhibit and study the hydrolysis of proteins within azurophil granules, and it performs consistently across all our replicates.
