PE-A*02:01/Human PRAME (SLLQHLIGL) MHC Tetramer

CAT#: MHC-LC185

This product is a tetramer of biotinylated peptide/MHC complex with streptavidin mainly composed of PRAME-derived peptide of SLLQHLIGL sequence covering 425-433 and A*02:01 molecule. The pMHC tetramer recognizes human CD8 T cells, and can be used in the analysis of individual antigen-specific T cells.

Target

  • Antigen Introduction
  • This gene encodes an antigen that is preferentially expressed in human melanomas and that is recognized by cytolytic T lymphocytes. It is not expressed in normal tissues, except testis. The encoded protein acts as a repressor of retinoic acid receptor, and likely confers a growth advantage to cancer cells via this function. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
  • Alternative Names
  • PRAME; preferentially expressed antigen in melanoma; MAPE; OIP4; CT130; OIP-4

Q&As

  1. What is the main application of this MHC tetramer?

A: The PE-A*02:01/Human PRAME MHC Tetramer is primarily used in the analysis of antigen-specific T cells. It helps researchers identify and quantify T cell populations that recognize the PRAME peptide, providing insights into immune responses in cancer research.

  2. How does this product assist in cancer research?

A: This MHC tetramer targets PRAME, a melanoma-associated antigen. By recognizing CD8 T cells specific to PRAME, it aids in evaluating immune responses and studying tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes in melanoma and other cancers where PRAME is expressed.

  3. How is PRAME detected using this product?

A: Researchers use flow cytometry to identify PRAME-specific CD8 T cells. The tetramer binds specifically to these cells, allowing precise enumeration and characterization crucial for understanding tumor immunity.
