Rabbit Anti-DAB2 Recombinant Antibody (VS13-YC285) (CAT#: VS13-YC285)

The Rabbit Anti-DAB2 Recombinant Antibody is specific for human DAB2. DAB2 encodes a phosphoprotein expressed in normal ovarian cells but often down-regulated in carcinoma, suggesting tumor suppressor roles with interactions in growth factor pathways via proteins like GRB2. The anti-DAB2 antibody can be used for Western blot (1/500-1/1000), Immunohistochemistry (1/50-1/100), Immunoprecipitation (1/20).

Target

  • Alternative Names
  • DAB2, Clathrin Adaptor Protein; Differentially Expressed In Ovarian Carcinoma 2; Differentially-Expressed Protein 2; Adaptor Molecule Disabled-2; DOC-2; DOC2; Disabled (Drosophila) Homolog 2 (Mitogen-Responsive Phosphoprotein);
  • Long Name
  • DAB2, Clathrin Adaptor Protein
  • Cellular Localization
  • Coated pit; Cytoplasm; Cytoplasmic vesicle; Membrane
  • Function
  • Adapter protein that functions as a clathrin-associated sorting protein (CLASP) required for clathrin-mediated endocytosis of selected cargo proteins. Can bind and assemble clathrin, and binds simultaneously to phosphatidylinositol 4, 5-bisphosphate (PtdIns(4, 5)P2) and cargos containing non-phosphorylated NPXY internalization motifs, such as the LDL receptor, to recruit them to clathrin-coated pits. Can function in clathrin-mediated endocytosis independently of the AP-2 complex.
