The anti-EBI3 eliminating antibody is an engineered pH-sensitive antibody against human EBI3. EBI3 associates with Epstein-Barr virus-induced proteins, forming cytokine IL-27. The antibody has a novel EBI3-sweeping activity in vivo, which selectively eliminatesthe soluble EBI3 from plasma. Compared to conventional antibody, the mAb exerted in vivo efficacy by simultaneously engineering both pH-dependent antigen binding, to mimic the pH-dependent receptor-ligand binding of such endocytic receptors, and increased FcRn binding affinity at neutral pH, to mimic the cell-bound form of the receptors.
