Human Anti-EV71 Recombinant Antibody (clone 38-1-10A)

This human anti-EV71 antibody 38-1-10A binds close to the virus icosahedral threefold axis with the heavy and light chains positioned roughly equidistant from the axis, shielding an unusually large area (1400 Å2) of virus surface. This antibody has been tested for use in flow cytometry, ELISA, immunoprecipitation, neutralization and inhibition assays.

- Antibody 38-1-10A was used for binding to the EV71 virion in a competitive ELISA. For immunoprecipitation, the beads-antibody complex was incubated with pre-cleared EV71-containing supernatants. Antibody 38-1-10A neutralized virus at picomolar level. Antibody 38-1-10A conferred full protection from lethality by EV71 in the infected mice at a prophylactic dose of 0.4 mg/kg.
