The anti-GCG eliminating antibody is an engineered pH-sensitive antibody against human GCG. GCG is a preproprotein processed into peptides like glucagon, significant in glucose metabolism. The antibody has a novel GCG-sweeping activity in vivo, which selectively eliminatesthe soluble GCG from plasma. Compared to conventional antibody, the mAb exerted in vivo efficacy by simultaneously engineering both pH-dependent antigen binding, to mimic the pH-dependent receptor-ligand binding of such endocytic receptors, and increased FcRn binding affinity at neutral pH, to mimic the cell-bound form of the receptors.
