Anti-KRAS (clone W24V31) Recombinant Antibody Coupled Liposome (VS-1024-FY32) (CAT#: VS-1024-FY32)
Lipid nanoparticles that bind to anti-KRAS antibodies show potential in the treatment of human colorectal cancer. These lipid nanoparticles can target the KRAS protein, inhibiting its localization on the cancer cell membrane, thereby affecting the function and growth of cancer cells.

- Antibody Description
- This product is a recombinant mouse antibody that was specifically designed to target the K-ras protein. K-ras is a critical oncogene that plays a significant role in cell signaling pathways related to growth and proliferation. Mutations in the K-ras gene are often associated with various types of cancers, making it a vital target for cancer research and therapeutic interventions.

Target Information
- Target
- KRAS
- Introduction
- This gene, a Kirsten ras oncogene homolog from the mammalian ras gene family, encodes a protein that is a member of the small GTPase superfamily. A single amino acid substitution is responsible for an activating mutation. The transforming protein that results is implicated in various malignancies, including lung adenocarcinoma, mucinous adenoma, ductal carcinoma of the pancreas and colorectal carcinoma. Alternative splicing leads to variants encoding two isoforms that differ in the C-terminal region.

- Post Translation Modifications
- Acetylation at Lys-104 prevents interaction with guanine nucleotide exchange factors (GEFs). ( P01116-RASK_HUMAN )
Palmitoylated at Lys-182, Lys-184 and Lys-185 (PubMed:29239724).
Palmitoylation on lysine residues is promoted by palmitoylation at Cys-180 (PubMed:29239724).
Lysine-depalmitoylation by SIRT2 promotes its localization to endomembranes in endocytic pathways

- Function
- Ras proteins bind GDP/GTP and possess intrinsic GTPase activity (PubMed:20949621).
Plays an important role in the regulation of cell proliferation (PubMed:22711838, 23698361).
Plays a role in promoting oncogenic events by inducing transcriptional silencing of tumor suppressor genes (TSGs) in colorectal cancer (CRC) cells in a ZNF304-dependent manner.
