Anti-MEF2C Antibody Prodrug, Protease Activated (VS-1025-YC127)

CAT#: VS-1025-YC127

The Anti-MEF2C Antibody Prodrug, Protease Activated (VS-1025-YC127) is an antibody prodrug comprised of a recombinant human antibody targeting human MEF2C, linked to a masking peptide that conceals the active antigen-binding site via a protease-cleavable linker. The mask peptide is recombinantly attached to the amino terminus of either the light or heavy chain of the antibody, designed to block access to the antigen-binding site and physically prevent the antibody from binding to MEF2C protein. Once the masking peptide is cleaved by matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs), the prodrug is activated, allowing the unmasked monoclonal antibody component to bind to MEF2C effectively. MEF2C (Myocyte Enhancer Factor 2C) is a transcription factor that is frequently overexpressed due to gene amplification or translocation in certain leukemias, acting as an oncogene. Its high expression promotes the proliferation and inhibits the differentiation of malignant hematopoietic cells.

Target

  • Introduction
  • The antibodies that bind selectively to MEF2C (Myocyte-specific enhancer factor 2C)-also known as MADS box transcription enhancer factor 2, polypeptide C, are used for cardiovascular diseases. MEF2C is one of several biomarkers expressed in committed cells differentiated from stem cells. MEF2C is a transcription factor in the MEF2 family of proteins, which play a role in cardiac morphogenesis, myogenesis and also vascular development.
