Breast cancer biomarkers at key points during disease progression
Excellent Secondary Antibody
We used this polyclonal antibody as a secondary reagent to detect rat primary antibodies in our immunohistochemistry protocol. It specifically targets the Fc fragment, which helped reduce background binding that we sometimes see with whole IgG secondaries. The signal amplification was great, resulting in crisp staining of our tissue samples. A reliable and cost-effective secondary antibody for everyday lab use.

Specific Fc Recognition
In our sandwich ELISA development, we needed an antibody that would capture Rat IgG via the Fc region without interfering with antigen binding at the Fab end. This polyclonal antibody worked perfectly for that purpose. It showed strong binding capacity and good specificity. It has become a standard reagent in our assay development toolkit for rat model research.

Q&As

  1. We are looking for a secondary antibody. Is this product monoclonal or polyclonal, and what does it target?

A: This product is a Polyclonal Antibody. It is designed to target the Fc fragment of Rat IgG. Being polyclonal, it can bind to multiple epitopes on the Fc region, potentially providing higher signal amplification in secondary antibody applications compared to a monoclonal secondary. It is ideal for detecting rat primary antibodies in various immunoassays.

  2. Why would I choose an Fc-specific secondary antibody over a whole IgG secondary?

A: Choosing an Fc-specific secondary antibody reduces the likelihood of cross-reactivity with the Fab region or light chains of other immunoglobulins, which can be important if you are using multiple antibodies or if there are endogenous immunoglobulins in your sample. It ensures that you are specifically detecting the heavy chain class of your primary antibody, leading to cleaner background in assays like IHC or ELISA.
