The anti-SERPINC1 eliminating antibody is an engineered pH-sensitive antibody against human SERPINC1. SERPINC1, a member of the serpin superfamily, is a plasma protease inhibitor that inhibits thrombin and other activated serine proteases in the coagulation system, thus regulating the blood coagulation cascade.
The antibody has a novel SERPINC1-sweeping activity in vivo, which selectively eliminatesthe soluble SERPINC1 from plasma. Compared to conventional antibody, the mAb exerted in vivo efficacy by simultaneously engineering both pH-dependent antigen binding, to mimic the pH-dependent receptor-ligand binding of such endocytic receptors, and increased FcRn binding affinity at neutral pH, to mimic the cell-bound form of the receptors.
