This human anti-T. gondii SAG1 antibody Tox203 is a product that recognizes recombinant surface antigen 1 (SAG1) of T. gondii. The antigen recognized by Tox203 was located across the entire surface of both intra- and extracellular tachyzoites by confocal microscopy. This antibody Tox203 significantly blocked tachyzoite attachment to Madin-Darby canine kidney cells.

- The reactivities of Tox203 with recombinant SAG1 were compared by ELISA. The optical density of Tox203 was at 2 μg/ml. Confocal microscopy was used to localize the the T. gondii antigen recognized by Tox203 on tachyzoites. Tox203 significantly blocked tachyzoite attachment to Madin-Darby canine kidney cells and the blocking concentration is ranging from 7% at 20 μg/ml to 52% at 200 μg/ml. In an in vivo experiment, 38 and 50% of mice were alive in the groups treated with 5 and 10 mg of Tox203, respectively.
