SmartAb™ Recombinant Anti-VEGFD pH-dependent Antibody (Clone 1A)

The anti-VEGFD pH-dependent antibody (clone 1A) targets human VEGFD in a pH-dependent manner, with its affinity remaining high at neutral pH but weakening at a lower pH, such as within the acidic environment of endosomes. The anti-VEGFD acid-switched antibody was engineered by incorporating histidine residues into its variable regions. The introduction of histidine substitutions within its Complementarity-Determining Regions (CDRs) enables pH-responsive antigen binding, which leads to enhanced VEGFD clearance. The antibody operates in a cyclical manner, binding VEGFD in the extracellular fluid and releasing it in acidified endosomes. Human VEGFD (Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor D) is a growth factor of the VEGF family that is involved in both lymphangiogenesis and angiogenesis. It is implicated in the development of lymphatic vessels and the metastasis of various cancers.
