Creative Biolabs is a global provider of inflammation and oncology research reagents, offering world-class anti-CXCR1 recombinant antibodies. CXCR1 is the high-affinity receptor for the neutrophil chemoattractant CXCL8 (IL-8), and is a key driver of acute inflammation. These best-in-class antibodies have applications in the study of neutrophil recruitment, anti-inflammatory drug discovery, and the role of IL-8 signaling in cancer.
CXCR1: The High-Affinity Receptor for Neutrophil Recruitment
C-X-C Motif Chemokine Receptor 1 (CXCR1), also known as IL-8 Receptor Alpha, is a G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) that is highly expressed on neutrophils. CXCR1 has high affinity for its ligand, CXCL8 (IL-8). The signal mediated by this interaction is the primary mechanism by which neutrophils are recruited from circulation to the site of acute infection or inflammation. Rapid migration of neutrophils into tissue is the defining feature of acute inflammation. Prolonged or aberrant signaling through CXCR1 can also lead to tissue damage in chronic inflammatory diseases, and IL-8/CXCR1 signaling is known to be a pro-survival and pro-angiogenic pathway in many cancers.
Alternative Names
CXCR1; Human CXCR1
Background
CXCR1 (C-X-C Motif Chemokine Receptor 1) is a Protein Coding gene. Diseases associated with CXCR1 include Human Immunodeficiency Virus Type 1 and Acute Pyelonephritis. Among its related pathways are Akt Signaling and Innate Immune System. Gene Ontology (GO) annotations related to this gene include G-protein coupled receptor activity and interleukin-8 binding. An important paralog of this gene is CXCR2.
