Human Anti-C3b Recombinant Antibody (clone C3b)

Provided is an aglycosylated humanized anti-C3b (AAC3b) antibody. AAC3b antibodies described herein can recognize C3b with high affinity without any change in the functional activity. The AAC3b and AC3b antibodies are capable of inhibiting the interaction between C3b and factor B. The AAC3b and AC3b antibodies do not inhibit properdin binding to C3b. Both antibodies can demonstrate comparable activity in a variety of alternative complement assays.

Inhibits Factor B Binding
This aglycosylated humanized antibody is highly specific for C3b. In our inhibition assays, it successfully prevented the interaction between C3b and factor B, which was the exact mechanism we needed to study in the alternative complement pathway.
Aglycosylated For Specificity
The fact that this antibody is aglycosylated while retaining high affinity for C3b is impressive. It allowed us to perform ELISA and functional assays with high confidence, confirming it does not inhibit properdin binding, which was a key control for us.
