This product is a recombinant Mouse antibody that can recognize EBV gH/gL. CL40 can block membrane fusion with both B cells and epithelial cells. CL40 binding to gHgL/gp42 complexes is not blocked by gp42 and does not interfere with gp42 binding to HLA class II, indicating that its ability to block membrane fusion with B cells represents a defect in gB activation. CL40 binds to an epitope in gH D-II that overlaps substantially with a region observed to interact with the gp42 HP.

SDS-PAGE analysis of PABC-419 in non-reduced (Lane 2) and reduced (Lane 1) conditions. Gel stained for 30 minutes with Coomassie Blue. As a result of different β-mercaptoethanol-reduced proteins (Heavy chain and Light chain) migrate as about 50 kDa and 25 kDa, respectively.
