Human Anti-N. meningitidis fHbp Recombinant Antibody (clone 4B3) (CAT#: VS-0724-FY11)
This is a human monoclonal antibody that binds to meningococcal strain fHbp. Clone 4B3 is able to inhibit fH binding. Anti-fHbp antibody is able to compete with hfH for binding to fHbp on live serogroup B meningococci and can be generated in humans following immunization with recombinant fHbp v1.1.

- Function
- The function of fHbp (factor H binding protein) is to bind to and recruit factor H, a key regulator of the host's immune response, to the surface of certain strains of Neisseria meningitidis bacteria. This interaction helps the bacteria evade the host immune system and ultimately promotes bacterial survival and colonization. Additionally, fHbp can also play a role in initiating the complement cascade, a series of immune responses that targets and destroys foreign invaders, further aiding in the bacteria's colonization and infection of the host. Overall, the function of fHbp is to contribute to the virulence of Neisseria meningitidis by modulating the host immune response.
