Liposomal formulations targeting the GABRA1 antibody may play an important role in the treatment of gliomas. By targeting the GABRA1 antigen, drugs or therapeutic agents can be effectively delivered directly to tumor cells, enhancing the specificity and efficacy of treatment. This targeted delivery system may reduce side effects on normal cells and improve patient tolerability. Additionally, antibody-conjugated liposomes could be useful in early diagnosis, helping to monitor the progression of gliomas and the effectiveness of treatments.

When activated by GABA, GABAARs selectively allow the flow of chloride anions across the cell membrane down their electrochemical gradient.
