SmartAb™ Recombinant Anti-IL24 pH-dependent Antibody (Clone 1A7)

The anti-IL24 pH-dependent antibody (clone 1A7) targets human IL24 in a pH-dependent manner, with its affinity remaining high at neutral pH but weakening at a lower pH, such as within the acidic environment of endosomes. The anti-IL24 acid-switched antibody was engineered by incorporating histidine residues into its variable regions. The introduction of histidine substitutions within its Complementarity-Determining Regions (CDRs) enables pH-responsive antigen binding, which leads to enhanced IL24 clearance. The antibody operates in a cyclical manner, binding IL24 in the extracellular fluid and releasing it in acidified endosomes. Human IL24, or Interleukin-24, is a cytokine of the IL-10 family that is involved in the stress response and has anti-tumor activity. It is a potential therapeutic agent for cancer due to its ability to induce apoptosis in cancer cells.
