The anti-MMP12 eliminating antibody is an engineered pH-sensitive antibody against human and mouse MMP12. MMP12, part of the matrix metalloproteinase family, breaks down extracellular matrix and may contribute to diseases like emphysema. The antibody has a novel MMP12-sweeping activity in vivo, which selectively eliminatesthe soluble MMP12 from plasma. Compared to conventional antibody, the mAb exerted in vivo efficacy by simultaneously engineering both pH-dependent antigen binding, to mimic the pH-dependent receptor-ligand binding of such endocytic receptors, and increased FcRn binding affinity at neutral pH, to mimic the cell-bound form of the receptors.
