The Recombinant Anti-N. meningitidis porA (P1.7 epitope x P1.16 epitope) Biparatopic Antibody, Tandem scFv (Clone 208,D-5 x Clone 151,F-9) is a biparatopic antibody (bpAb) that targets two distinct epitopes of N. meningitidis PorA. This bpAb's tandem scFv design utilizes the 208,D-5 scFv (specific for the P1.7 epitope of PorA) N-terminally fused to the 151,F-9 scFv (recognizing the P1.16 epitope of PorA).

Target
- Introduction
- The class 1 outer membrane porin protein, PorA, is expressed by almost all meningococcal strains, and antigenic variation among PorA proteins is the basis of serosubtyping. PorA can induce bactericidal anti- bodies in humans and mice when they are immunized with meningococcal outer membrane vesicles (OMVs), and monoclonal antibodies (MAbs) against PorA can be protective in an infant rat model. Thus, the PorA protein is considered to be an important vaccine antigen and is therefore the main component in a Dutch candidate vaccine.
