Mouse Anti-ZBTB17 Recombinant Antibody (VS-0326-YC1158)

CAT#: VS-0326-YC1158

This product is an anti-ZBTB17 antibody panel that contains two antibodies targeting ZBTB17. ZBTB17 (MIZ-1) is a zinc-finger transcription factor that can act as both an activator and a repressor. It is a critical partner of Myc; while MIZ-1 normally activates cell cycle inhibitors like p15INK4b, the Myc-MIZ-1 complex represses them. ZBTB17 signaling coordinates the balance between cell proliferation and differentiation in hematopoietic and neural lineages. Two monoclonal antibodies, VS-0326-YC623 and VS-0326-YC624, directed against ZBTB17 were used for in vitro assays including Immunohistochemistry (IHC) and Western Blot (WB).

Target

  • Alternative Names
  • This gene encodes a zinc finger protein involved in the regulation of c-myc. The symbol MIZ1 has also been associated with PIAS2 which is a different gene located on chromosome 18. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]GeneCards Summary for ZBTB17 Gene ZBTB17 (Zinc Finger And BTB Domain Containing 17) is a Protein Coding gene. Diseases associated with ZBTB17 include Split-Hand/Foot Malformation 1 and Dilated Cardiomyopathy. Among its related pathways are Unfolded Protein Response (UPR) and Metabolism of proteins. Gene Ontology (GO) annotations related to this gene include DNA binding transcription factor activity. An important paralog of this gene is ZBTB49.Transcription factor that can function as an activator or repressor depending on its binding partners, and by targeting negative regulators of cell cycle progression. Plays a critical role in early lymphocyte development, where it is essential to prevent apoptosis in lymphoid precursors, allowing them to survive in response to IL7 and undergo proper lineage commitment. Has been shown to bind to the promoters of adenovirus major late protein and cyclin D1 and activate transcription. Required for early embryonic development during gastrulation. Represses RB1 transcription; this repression can be blocked by interaction with ZBTB49 isoform 3/ZNF509S1 (PubMed:25245946).
