The protein encoded by this gene is closely related to Il13RA1, a subuint of the interleukin 13 receptor complex. This protein binds IL13 with high affinity, but lacks cytoplasmic domain, and does not appear to function as a signal mediator. It is reported to play a role in the internalization of IL13. Comparing this noncleavable mc linker version to the cleavable version was very informative. This product showed exceptional stability. Drug release was strictly dependent on lysosomal degradation of the hu08 antibody, which we confirmed in our IL-13-Rα2 models.

High Affinity For IL-13-Rα2

The antibody hu08 binds IL-13-Rα2 with high affinity. Since this receptor lacks a cytoplasmic domain for signaling, it is an interesting target for internalization studies. The MMAF payload effectively inhibited cell division in our target cells.
