Recombinant Rabbit Anti-CD68 Capture Antibody (clone R74-8I-8)

This antibody is a rabbit recombinant antibody against human CD68. It was developed by immunization of rabbit with recombinant human CD68 protein and then was produced as a recombinant antibody. The isotype of this product is rabbit IgG. The sandwich ELISA was established using matched antibody pair R74-8I-8 and R43-7B-7. The clone R74-8I-8 can be used as a capture antibody in ELISA analysis to identify human CD68.

- Could play a role in phagocytic activities of tissue macrophages, both in intracellular lysosomal metabolism and extracellular cell-cell and cell-pathogen interactions. Binds to tissue- and organ-specific lectins or selectins, allowing homing of macrophage subsets to particular sites. Rapid recirculation of CD68 from endosomes and lysosomes to the plasma membrane may allow macrophages to crawl over selectin-bearing substrates or other cells.
