PDE4B: A Promising Therapeutic Target in Inflammatory Neurological and Cancer Disorders

PDE4B is an enzyme that plays a pivotal role in regulating intracellular cyclic AMP (cAMP) levels, which are critical for numerous cellular functions including inflammatory responses, immune regulation, and neural signaling. Aberrant PDE4B activity has been linked to a variety of diseases, particularly those involving inflammation and the nervous system. Elevated PDE4B expression is associated with chronic inflammatory diseases such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and rheumatoid arthritis, where it contributes to excessive immune activation and tissue damage. In the brain, altered PDE4B function affects neurotransmitter signaling and has been implicated in psychiatric disorders including schizophrenia, depression, and anxiety, influencing cognitive and mood regulation. Background

This gene is a member of the type IV, cyclic AMP (cAMP)-specific, cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterase (PDE) family. The encoded protein regulates the cellular concentrations of cyclic nucleotides and thereby play a role in signal transduction. Altered activity of this protein has been associated with schizophrenia and bipolar affective disorder. Alternative splicing and the use of alternative promoters results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms.

In our immunoprecipitation experiments with human lung epithelial cell lysates, the Rabbit Anti-PDE4B Antibody exhibited excellent target selectivity and binding efficiency, successfully isolating the protein with negligible non-specific interactions. The reagent consistently delivered reproducible results across technical replicates and adapted seamlessly to our established immunoprecipitation workflow without protocol modifications. Mouse Anti-PDE4B Recombinant Antibody (clone 1D12) (CAT#: VS-0224-XY99)
In our experiments, the Mouse Anti-PDE4B Recombinant Antibody was applied to flow cytometry analysis of human peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs). The antibody provided clear and specific staining with low background levels. It was easy to use and gave consistent results across different samples without extensive optimization. Overall, this antibody proved to be a reliable tool for detecting PDE4B in FC assays.

CytoStream™ Rabbit Anti-PDE4B Recombinant Antibody (VS13-YC883) (CAT#: VS13-YC883)
We evaluated the CytoStream™ Rabbit Anti-PDE4B Recombinant Antibody using Western blot on mouse brain tissue lysates. The antibody showed specific binding with clear bands and minimal background. It performed consistently across multiple tests and worked well without needing protocol changes. This antibody is a solid choice for PDE4B detection in WB applications.
