Figure 1 Immunodetection of αVβ6 integrin in human VB6 keratinocytes adherent on wild type fibrillin-1 fragments with the mAb CSβ6.

After 30 min of culturing on fibrillin-1 substrates, VB6 cells were simultaneously stained for actin (green), αVβ6 integrin (red) and nuclei (blue). Fibronectin fragment FIII9-10 was used as a positive control for spreading and focal contact formation. Actin filaments terminating in focal contacts enriched in αVβ6 integrin produced an orange-yellow color due to colocalization of the two proteins. Note that both domain pairs, cbEGF22-TB4 and TB4-cbEGF23, can induce αVβ6 integrin recruitment into focal contacts. Scale bar, 10 μm.

Figure 1 is a photograph of trichrome staining of low power lung sections demonstrating dense accumulation of collagenous extracellular matrix in lungs of bleomycin treated wild type (β6+/+) but not β6−/− mice 30 days after treatment.

Figure 2 is a graph comparing the increase in lung water in wild type mice (β6+/+) compared to β6−/− mice in the presence of bleomycin (blm) or saline (sal).

Figure 3 is a graph comparing the recruitment of lymphocytes in wild type (β6+/+) and β6−/− mice after administration of bleomycin (blm) or saline (sal).
