This antibody has high affinity for prostaglandin E2 and can neutralize prostaglandin E2 activity in vitro and in vivo.

The dorsoflexion response to PBQ was induced in Swiss Webster mice. Ascites preparations of 2B5 and MOPC 21 were injected i.p. at the indicated doses 18 h before PBQ injection; indomethacin was administered by oral gavage 1 h before PBQ. Data are presented as the mean number of dorsoflexions ± SEM, n = 8/group. The mean number of dorsoflexions ± SEM of mice treated with PBQ alone was 48 ± 4.
