This product is a recombinant antibody that recognizes CXCL8. The monoclonal antibody WS-4 reacts with the epitope of CXCL8. WS-4 has been shown to inhibit the binding of rabbit IL-8 to rabbit neutrophils by Harada.

Fifty per cent of the untreated rabbits were alive at 9 h and only 40% at 12h, whereas 90% of WS-4 treated rabbits were alive at 12h (p<0.05).

This assay tests the ability of purified control human IgG, a chimeric antibody (chL/chH), reshaped antibodies (RVLa/RVHg and RVLb/RVHg) and the original WS-4 antibody to block binding of IL-8 to its receptor.
