Rabbit Anti-GDF11 Recombinant Antibody (clone R41-2N-8) (CAT#: VS3-FY2115)
Clone R41-2N-8 is a rabbit recombinant antibody that detects human GDF11 protein, a calculated weight of 45 kDa. It cross-reacts with rat.
The following recommendations serve as a starting point for assay optimization. The actual working concentration may vary and should be determined by the user. The R41-2N-8 is recommended for detection of target protein by western blotting (dilution range 1:500-1:1000), immunohistochemistry (dilution range 1:100-1:200), immunofluorescence (dilution range 1:50-1:200).
We specialize in custom recombinant antibody production, offering seamless execution from provided sequences to high-quality antibody deliverables, ensuring optimal yield and purity.

- Secreted
- Post Translation Modifications
- Synthesized as large precursor molecule that undergoes proteolytic cleavage by furin-like proteases (PubMed:31215115).
This produces an inactive form consisting of the mature C-terminal portion non-covalently bound to its cleaved N-terminal propeptide.
Activation of the mature form requires additional cleavage of the propeptide by a tolloid-like metalloproteinase.
Glycosylation at Asn94 (NX_O95390 [NX_O95390-1])
Modification sites at PhosphoSitePlus (O95390)
Glycosylation from GlyGen (O95390) 2 sites, 1 O-linked glycan (1 site)
- Protein Refseq
- XP_006719257.1; XP_054226739.1; NP_005802.1
- Function
- Secreted signal that acts globally to regulate anterior/posterior axial patterning during development. May play critical roles in patterning both mesodermal and neural tissues (By similarity).
It is required for proper vertebral patterning and orofacial development.
