This is a unique human monoclonal antibody that demonstrates potent cross-reactivity between human H3N2 and highly pathogenic avian influenza H5N1 (clade 2.3.4.4b) neuraminidases. Isolated from a healthy donor repertoire, it utilizes a remarkable mechanism of molecular mimicry, using a single Aspartic acid residue to occupy the neuraminidase active site, effectively inhibiting viral enzymatic activity.
