The anti-MUC5AC eliminating antibody is an engineered pH-sensitive antibody against human MUC5AC. MUC5AC, a high molecular weight mucin, is re-expressed in the colon during carcinogenesis. The antibody has a novel MUC5AC-sweeping activity in vivo, which selectively eliminatesthe soluble MUC5AC from plasma. Compared to conventional antibody, the mAb exerted in vivo efficacy by simultaneously engineering both pH-dependent antigen binding, to mimic the pH-dependent receptor-ligand binding of such endocytic receptors, and increased FcRn binding affinity at neutral pH, to mimic the cell-bound form of the receptors.
