Mouse Anti-PRKAB1 Recombinant Antibody (clone 5D8) (CAT#: VS3-WK1595)

This antibody is a mouse recombinant antibody against human PRKAB1, which may serve as an adaptor molecule mediating the association of the AMPK complex. The clone 5D8 can be used in IHC analysis at a dilution of 1/50-1/200.

Target

  • Alternative Names
  • AMPK; HAMPKb
  • Long Name
  • Protein kinase AMP-activated non-catalytic subunit beta 1
  • Sequence Similarities
  • Belongs to the 5'-AMP-activated protein kinase beta subunit family.
  • Cellular Localization
  • Cytoplasm, Cytosol, Nucleoplasm, Nucleus
  • Post Translation Modifications
  • Phosphorylated when associated with the catalytic subunit (PRKAA1 or PRKAA2). Phosphorylated by ULK1; leading to negatively regulate AMPK activity and suggesting the existence of a regulatory feedback loop between ULK1 and AMPK.
  • Function
  • Non-catalytic subunit of AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK), an energy sensor protein kinase that plays a key role in regulating cellular energy metabolism. In response to reduction of intracellular ATP levels, AMPK activates energy-producing pathways and inhibits energy-consuming processes: inhibits protein, carbohydrate and lipid biosynthesis, as well as cell growth and proliferation.
