The Recombinant Anti-RHO Vesicular Antibody, EV Displayed (VS-0425-YC699) is an antibody-displaying extracellular vesicle (Ab-EV). The product combines the benefits of both extracellular vesicle (EV) and antibody (Ab) which can guide the decorated EVs to RHO-expressed cells or tissues. RHO, found in rod cells, is vital for low-light vision through its binding and activation with 11-cis retinal. Mutations cause night blindness.

- The protein encoded by this gene is found in rod cells in the back of the eye and is essential for vision in low-light conditions. The encoded protein binds to 11-cis retinal and is activated when light hits the retinal molecule. Defects in this gene are a cause of congenital stationary night blindness.
