Computationally designed for excellence, the anti-NSDHL mAb ensures strong molecular binding to the human NSDHL protein. NSDHL (NAD(P) Dependent Steroid Dehydrogenase-Like) is a critical enzyme localized to the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) and lipid droplets that participates in the post-squalene steps of cholesterol biosynthesis. Specifically, it catalyzes the C-4 demethylation of sterol intermediates. Beyond its role in membrane biogenesis, NSDHL is a vital modulator of the Hedgehog (Hh) signaling pathway, as cholesterol is a necessary covalent adduct for the maturation and patterning activity of Hedgehog ligands.
