The anti-CFD eliminating antibody is an engineered pH-sensitive antibody against human CFD. CFD, encoded by CFD gene, cleaves factor B in the complement system's alternative pathway. The antibody has a novel CFD-sweeping activity in vivo, which selectively eliminatesthe soluble CFD from plasma. Compared to conventional antibody, the mAb exerted in vivo efficacy by simultaneously engineering both pH-dependent antigen binding, to mimic the pH-dependent receptor-ligand binding of such endocytic receptors, and increased FcRn binding affinity at neutral pH, to mimic the cell-bound form of the receptors.
