SmartAb™ Recombinant Anti-CTGF pH-dependent Antibody (VS-0825-YC86)

The anti-CTGF pH-dependent antibody (VS-0825-YC86) targets human CTGF in a pH-dependent manner, with its affinity remaining high at neutral pH but weakening at a lower pH, such as within the acidic environment of endosomes. The anti-CTGF acid-switched antibody was engineered by incorporating histidine residues into its variable regions. The introduction of histidine substitutions within its Complementarity-Determining Regions (CDRs) enables pH-responsive antigen binding, which leads to enhanced CTGF clearance. The antibody operates in a cyclical manner, binding CTGF in the extracellular fluid and releasing it in acidified endosomes. Human CTGF, or Connective Tissue Growth Factor, is a matricellular protein that is involved in cell adhesion, migration, and angiogenesis. It is a key mediator of fibrotic diseases and is highly expressed in various cancers.
