Recombinant monoclonal antibody specially binds to the ligand-binding domain of the neurokinin 1 receptor for the neuropeptide substance P. This mouse anti-neurokinin 1 receptor antibody (clone 12) is useful to study the mechanism of various diseases of the central nervous system, sunch as schizophrenia, migraine, fibromyalgia.

SP treatment upregulated IL-8, and this effect was inhibited by cotransfection of a mutant IκB superrepressor lacking amino acids 1–36 that acts as a specific NF-κB inhibitor.
