SmartAb™ Recombinant Anti-VEGFR2 pH-dependent Antibody (VS-0825-YC356)

The antibody binds to human VEGFR2 with pH-dependent antigen binding properties. The antibody preferred VEGFR2 binding under the acidic pH relative to physiological pH by introducing His mutations, which could act as a pH-switch. By employing yeast surface display with a pH-dependent screening pressure, mAbs having markedly increased dissociation from VEGFR2 at pH 6.0 were identified. The pH-sensitive antibody maintained a binding affinity on tumor cells, while having negligible binding to VEGFR2 expressed on normal cells under physiological pH. Human VEGFR2, or Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor Receptor 2, is a receptor tyrosine kinase that binds to VEGF and is a master regulator of angiogenesis. It is a major therapeutic target for cancer.
