Results are given as a percentage of the control value, where cells were grown in the presence of VEGF alone. Results show the mean ± SD of three independent experiments for VG76e and two experiments for positive control VEGF antibody, 2C3, and control IgG. Both VEGF antibodies exhibited a marked inhibitory effect on VEGF-stimulated proliferation of HUVECs. A negative control anti-body of irrelevant specificity had no effect on endothelial cell growth.
