The anti-osteopontin antibodies target differen forms of Opn (full length, ThrOpn and MmpOpn), which has different functions in biomineralization, bone remodeling, immune function and heart. The anti-Opn antibody can be used in treatment and/or prevention of chronic inflammatory disease such as type-2 diabetes (T2D) and cardiovascular disease.

Figure 1 ELISA of mAbs against either full length Opn (flOpn), thrombin cleaved Opn (ThrOpn), or metalloproteinase cleaved Opn (MmpOpn).
mAbs 7-5-4 shows a minor cross-reactivity towards ThrOpn but are highly reactive towards MmpOpn.
